Texas power shortage problem this summer can be solved by solar power

Repost from Clean Technica | May 2, 2013

The headline of this post, addressed to Texas could very well be addressed to Mindanao in the PHL which has experienced severe power outages.

Its headline says:

"To Texas: Want More Jobs & Fewer Blackouts? Go Solar"

Experts say that Texas can ensure reliability of its power supply by deploying more solar power.  With its vast land exposed to sunlight and manufacturing capability of solar panels, Texas is poised to go solar.  NERC notes that Texas is not maintaining adequate power reserves.

Texas is home to 260 solar companies and 2l manufacturing facilities;  Texas ranks 13th in number of installed solar facilities (although it the biggest state?)  It has 121 mW of installed solar facilites with 400 mW under contract.

What about our scientists and geniuses in PHL?   Is nobody planning for the shortage?   Are we not joining the safe, clean, and green technology to solve our solar problems
