Energy Efficiency Strategy of Solar City

Repost from Greentech Energy by Eric Weschoff | May 16, 2013

As we process our initial installation, we noted that the high electrical bill of P29t a month is due to several factors;

l.  Aircon use
2.  Daily watering and use of water pumps
3.  Use of high wattage metal halide lamps.

Recommendation on energy efficiency is needed aside from going solar:    proper use of metal halide or shift to LED lamps, solar air con.

Thus Solar City had its energy efficiency audit team;  now it acquired Building Solution, a company with software solutions for energy efficiency.   The firm got financing from Admiral Bank to do a $2t to $l5 t energy audit of homes  and suggest measures that would mean 20 to 50% savings (wow)

Solar City has done l5,000 energy audit but will not be doing this in house anymore.

US homes spend about $241 billion a year on energy or $l,900 per home.  The PV is just a small part of that pie
