Massachussets, the Bay state (not the sunshine state) has reset its target for solar energy from 250 mW to 1,600 gW in 2017. It was just 16 mW in 2009. The initiative is being funded by tax exemptions, utility rebates, Mass has become a champion of sorts in solar. It has installed 196 mW in 2012, the 6th most of any state in USA.
The initiative is supported by 29% drop in solar prices. There are 4,500 solar professionals working in 229 companies
