Installed solar capacity will reach 100 gW by end of 2013. That figure will be reached y the end of 2013 despite some uncertainity at some markets. There were more solar capacity installed in 2010 and 2011 than from any other source/technology
28.4 gW was installed last year, bringing the total cumulative PV total to 89.5 and with 7 gW in the pipeline, the total would reach 96.5 gW. In 2012, Europe dominated with 59.1% of the market. Asia Pacific Region would be the second market, and third China.
The falling prices and increasing reliability/popularity and ease of installation (non pollluting, non health hazard) makes PV the choice alternative energy source
