Mr Electricty says conservation, enercon, not RE is the answer

"Alternative Energy Can't Save Us"

Mr. Electricity says that shifting to alternative energy is not the answer.  We have finite resources whether solar, gas, or nuclear.  When they are gone, they are gone.  Even the uraniums resources we have will not last for a hundred years.  He thinks that solar cell use will only contribute to 2.5% of total usage (from Popular Mechanics in 2009) (compare that with Energy and Capital numbers which are very much larger)  Their number is 25% in Germany. 

Is alternative energy the answer? How about renewables?
