REpower Crosses 1 GW Installed Wind Capacity In UK

REpower, a subsidiary of the Indian wind energy giant Suzlon Energy, has announced that it has now installed a total of 1,000 MW of wind energy capacity in the United Kingdom. The company became the only turbine manufacturer in the UK to cross this milestone. Panasonic To Donate 100,000 Solar Lanterns To Mark Its 100th Anniversary

Japanese electronics giant Panasonic has announced plans to celebrate its 100th anniversary by bringing light to the lives of the needy across several countries in Asia and Africa. The company will donate 100,000 solar lanterns in Asian and African countries to communities that lack access to electricity. The company donated 3,000 lanterns in Myanmar and 5,000 lanterns in India through non-profit organizations in February and March 2013 respectively.
